Impact

Together, we can ensure miracles happen at Wolfson Children’s Hospital.

To fund the lifesaving work being done by Wolfson Children’s Hospital, The Women’s Board produces two major events annually that raise more than $1 million each year. These events are the First Coast Design Show and the Florida Forum.

In 2022, The Women’s Board committed to raising $1.5 million for two new Kids Kare Mobile ICUs, Neonatal and Pediatric Critical Care Transport vehicles, including equipment and the services necessary for the operation of each ambulance. The Women’s Board has committed to raising these funds by the end of2024.

Kids Kare vehicles and helicopters safely transport more than 2,250 infants and children a year to Wolfson Children’s for emergency critical care, trauma, and specialty care. Of those transported, 15% are newborns needing neonatal intensive care services.

Each Kids Kare Mobile ICU is equipped with everything needed to transport critically ill infants and children of all ages, including advanced monitoring, defibrillators, IV pumps and medications, neonatal/pediatric ventilators, infant isolettes with warmers, and equipment for oxygenation and airway management. During transport, each child is cared for by an experienced team of paramedics, nurses, and respiratory therapists trained in pediatric and newborn critical care.

Wolfson Children’s Hospital, a not-for-profit children’s hospital, has cared for more than one million children. As the only children’s hospital between Orlando and Atlanta, Wolfson Children’s serves one of the fastest-growing regions in the country.

The hospital depends upon donors to support its amazing work, which is why the commitment of The Women’s Board is so vital. The Women’s Board is passionate about ensuring that Wolfson Children's has the best equipment and facilities for newborns to young adults.
